Three classes define what an e-bike can do and where it can go. Here’s the difference before you ride.
Class 1
Pedal Assist
- •Pedal-assist only
- •No throttle control
- •Max speed: 20 mph
Allowed on most bike paths and mountain bike trails in NH.
Class 2
Throttle Assist
- •Pedal-assist + throttle
- •Motor works without pedaling
- •Max speed: 20 mph
Perfect for easy commuting and multi-use paved trails.
Class 3
Speed Pedelec
- •Pedal-assist + throttle
- •High-performance motor
- •Max speed: 28 mph
